Some good news regarding our accommodation situation!

Barry my husband has just got off the phone to our landlady. Good news is we can stay for a lot longer than we first anticipated. Which is great because the housing market is saturated with inappropriate properties that do not fit my families needs. We can now officially call off the house hunting until much later next year. This gives me time to improve my credit score, possibly start self employment early and for Barry to get a part time job. It also means we can now enjoy Christmas! We are going away for a short break over Christmas and when we get back we will look at things afresh. This is what you call answered prayer. The right property is available to us but its not the right time yet. I am pleased we can stay in this property for a while longer. I am now looking on Ebay for a Christmas tree as even though we are having a short break, we want to get the most out of Christmas as we can. I am now looking forward to Christmas so much and I am determined to enjoy the time we h...

Quitting Social Media to Hear God Clearly.

Since coming off all social media except for a monthly update on Facebook and YouTube, I have downloaded the morning and evening and night time prayer app from the Church Of England. Not only has regular prayer in this way reduced intrusive thoughts, but it has made the ability to hear from God much clearer. Gods voice is unique to each of us and the way in which He speaks can differ from person to person. Without the noise of a thousand voices from social media clogging up my spiritual arteries God's still small voice has been much more profound. I dont ever want to go back to social media now I have found a way to listen to God and to hear back from Him as a result.  The noise in my head has also gone, those horrible intrusive and fearful thoughts have paled into insignificance. I always was a woman of prayer but now I have tasted true prayer and what walking with God is truly like. The noise of social media gives you a hundred or so voices all clamouring for your attention...

Praying the Rosary as a Protestant

Now, now we cant let all the Roman Catholics have all the contemplative fun now can we? This book by Clay Roundtree is set to revolutionise your prayer life. Highly recommended and practical in its application, it makes prayer and the rosary both enjoyable and motivational. Daily prayer based on psalms and songs of the bible and beads to help contemplative flow are encouraged and worth pursuing in this book. I cannot recommend it enough. Using song and canticles from the Church Of England Common Worship, this easy to follow book guides you joyfully through praying with beads. You wont be disappointed! I myself pray this way and take my beads out with me to remind me God is at my right hand. They not only ground me but encourage me to pray as I go.  Prayer is so important and this small book that can easily be worked through with a rosary on a daily basis in just a short time. It will set you off in the contemplative path with encouragement and hope.

Becoming Isolated and Frenemies.

Its been said that I am isolating myself because I have quit YouTube and Facebook. Not at all! I still have my messenger open and I have invited people who want to stay in touch to contact me that way and we can meet face to face. I am doing far more socially now than I was on social media.  I am getting to know people in the flesh rather than through a YouTube comment or Facebook meme. Personally meeting people in the real world takes a lot of energy but I am finding it worth it. We are going to more Home Education meet ups and even trips to the Library are cherished because there is always people to meet and talk to. In fact it was because of social media I stayed indoors more and didn't talk to anyone. I could just catch up on Facebook should I need to get in touch. Not having social media means I get out in real life and talk to people in the flesh. Frenemies. Friends that are enemies.  Watch out for those that smile to your face yet would not hesitate to stab you in...
