I'll explain in detail why this is a bad idea, but can I ask why all the solutions to the imagined mass fraud is to hurt disabled people more in the process?

I'm sure some people think they're doing the right thing, many probably understand fine well it would hurt disabled people and they have forgotten they can become disabled at any point in their lives. 

Instead of starting with how it would hurt us (disabled people) I'll explain how it would hurt the state. 

It would cost MILLIONS to set up a whole IT system, set up partnerships with business, the amount of civil servants that would need to oversee invoices would just be immense. It would cost more than it would ever be intended to save, sort of like the current assessment system that sees tax payers cash endlessly going to tribunals because they've refused a disabled person help, 2/3rds of all claimants that take their case to full tribunal win. It again costs the state needless money to do this. 

This is a massive waste of cash

So why is it bad for disabled people? 

Well Disability is highly complex and unique to every individual. Same conditions don't always mean the same needs.

You would take away our independence, and choice, because we wouldn't be able to make those unique selections that help us in our lives.

Taxis, i need taxis each month because of chronic pain and fatigue. Would vouchers pay for this?

Many disabled people can't cook, have to order out a cheap takeout, or get ready meals. Trust me when I say you quickly get sick of it and just want some nice home cooked meals. 

Will vouchers give motability cars petrol? 

My symptoms are varied day to day, as are many disabled people. When we've got cash we can adapt immediately, vouchers are another barrier.

It really just stigamises us all, its a form of ration book basically, and why? So OTHER people who AREN'T disabled can keep an eye on us?

Why is that? You subconsciously think we're "useless eaters" despite many of us in work, and regardless, only viewing a humans worth in how much a human can produce is a disgusting attitude.

If your loves ones became disabled tomorrow, and have a think about this, would you want them to be treated like shit? Othered, viewed as frauds? 

Nope.

I was running up the Tor in Glastonbury one minute and now I am a ambulatory wheelchair user. Will vouchers pay for me to swap from a manual to electric wheelchair, to give me my independance?

The system is entirely unworkable that's why it's been thrown out every time it's been looked into, it wouldn't catch fraud, it's already difficult enough to get a claim, all it would do is severely hurt and exclude disabled people from society.

So please,even if you don't care about others, view it as personal insurance, should the worse happen, so you know your tax money has at least provided a safety net so you can try live as you did.

Stop thinking about what you're missing out on and start thinking how lucky you are these barriers don't exist.

Being disabled is fine, it's really society that's disabling, be it physically barriers like stepped access everywhere, nothing for visually impaired people to help guide them around places, to bureaucratic barriers like actually trying to get help in the first place and trying to submit mountains of evidence, to the massive waits, then appeals and tribunals, to society itself, with the media stoking hatred towards people, making you think disabled people get it large, making you think we're worthless, that we need to be mothered by the state and have all our pennies counted.

Ask yourself why the people at the top, with fewer problems than most of us are constantly demonising the most vulnerable groups, why are you constantly to look at the people with the least power?

 Disabled people aren't the enemy, those up top making shit decisions are where the frustration should be aimed at, not people just trying to live some semblance of an okay life.

Disability welfare exists because countries acknowledged that to be disabled in our society comes with extra costs because society isn't set up inclusively.

If you want rid of disability welfare you have two options

Aktion T4, I'll let you research that one on your own. I'd just say if you're easily triggered by seeing horrific stuff, give it a wide berth.

Or you push for an accessible world that can easily meet the needs of disabled people, barriers that are physical, gone, bureaucratic barriers gone, access to employment everywhere

What world do you want? Bear in mind you're not disabled *yet*
